Caged || Charlotte and Kris

charlotteadelman:

Charlotte sat tucked in an arm chair in the lobby of the library waiting for Kris to come. She hated it, but Charlotte was attempting to impress Kris slightly. Kris was such a beautiful girl, older, sweet and talented and while normally Charlotte was anything but modest, she felt her achievements and physical attributes matched those of Kris. Personally, she wasn’t that into this HVZ thing, but Kris was so she’d try. If anything, it was to open herself up to new experiences. Maybe it would be kind of fun.  Charlotte stood up when she saw it was the time Kris said she would arrive and clutched at her bag which had a Nerf gun she had purchased at the local toy store and a baby blue helmet for the batting cages. There was no way she would compromise her safety and not wear a helmet, but at the same time she didn’t want lice or anything else of the sort. Her and her dad would go to the batting cages ever so often, Charlotte always eager to do anything to please her dad. It was something she moderately enjoyed, but she just didn’t think her typical dinner as a date would be good for her and Kris. Kris seemed new to this, which had essentially been confirmed so it would be best to do something fun and low key, which would hopefully make the date less forced and more fun.

HVZ week was one of the most intense weeks possible on campus and Kris loved it. However, when there was a bounty on her bandana, it was even more crazy. After all of the time she’d been putting in with soccer, she was admittedly pretty exhausted. However, she wasn’t about to let that get in the way of HVZ week or the fact that she was on her way to a date. She didn’t quite know where things with Charlotte might go, but she knew that she enjoyed her company, so perhaps this could be good. Pulling up outside the library where she’d agreed to meet Charlotte, Kris parked the car and quickly hopped out. She had a nerf gun in one hand as she hurried up to the door, looking around her nervously to be sure she hadn’t been followed. So far, the library seemed like a safe place to be. Walking into the library, Kris didn’t take too long to find Charlotte over in one of the corners. Grinning a bit when she spotted the other girl, Kris sauntered over to where she was standing. “Hey,” she said, greeting the other girl with a smile. Kris was admittedly a bit nervous about the whole date thing, but it was Charlotte. Generally, she felt more comfortable around Charlotte than most people, so she was able to keep her smile up and at least fake calmness. “So, uh, you think you can brave the zombie hoards to go out with me tonight? Or is that too much to handle?”
